Uros and Taquile 1 Day Tour

Taquile is located 45 kilometers from the city of Puno, has approximately 2,200 inhabitants who wear their colorful costumes. It is currently considered “The fourth most beautiful island in the world in lakes”, its beautiful scenery and culture make it “a destination that every tourist should visit at least once in life”.

This tour is the most popular and complete, in one day we will know the famous floating islands of the Uros, we will visit 2 of the more than 90 islands that make up the Uros; And finally we will continue with the tour to appreciate the island of Taquile, which was declared by UNESCO as “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity”, thanks to its textiles that is considered one of the finest in Peru, customs of its inhabitants and beautiful landscapes.

From 7:00 a.m. our staff makes contact in your hotels (near Puno), to go to the port of Puno and aboard the speedboat, bound for the Floating Islands of the Uros, where we will visit two of them; our guide will give a detailed explanation of the main activities, customs and the construction of the islands.

After visiting the Uros, (1 hour and 15 minutes trip by speedboat), to Taquile Island (port) begins a hike uphill to view the beautiful scenery that offers us the Sacred Lake, you can feel calm and explore the area, enjoy the breathtaking view of Lake Titicaca.

We will have a typical lunch of the area, after lunch, the local family will demonstrate their customs and traditions such as their beautiful and fine weavings made by the people of the island.

Then, we will return to the port to board the boat that will take us back to the city of Puno, arriving at approximately 3:30 pm.
